  1.                  Technalysis Postal Digitizing Service
  2.  
  3. Technalysis offers a mail order service for converting your photos
  4. into computer files that can be displayed on your PC.  This is ideal
  5. for making full use of our TechView product in your database, spreadsheet
  6. or document.  You post us the photos along with the completed order form
  7. below.  We mail your photos back with digitized files (one per photo) on 
  8. floppy disks which we supply.  We use high quality digitizing equipment
  9. and experienced operators.  
  10.  
  11. Care must be taken when mailing film, video or prints.  To protect your
  12. film or prints please ensure that they are enclosed in stiff cardboard.
  13. Video or other magnetic media should be marked with "DO NOT X-RAY" in
  14. LARGE PRINT.  Contact your local postal service for recommended
  15. packaging or further postal advice.

  17. Digitizing "prints" is slightly more expensive than transparencies or
  18. negatives.  This is to cover additional handling and mailing costs.
  19. We recommend negatives or transparencies as these produce better
  20. quality digital pictures.  Full screen pictures (640x480 pixels) also
  21. attract additional charges to cover floppy disk, handling and mailing.

  23. If you have unusual artwork or other photos for which the orientation
  24. is not obvious, please indicate the top of the picture by either
  25. writing "TOP" on top edge of the back of the print or including clear
  26. instructions on the order form.  Transparencies should ideally be
  27. enclosed in plastic sleeves to which you can attach comments.

  29. To assist you in adding your picture files into your database when
  30. they are returned we name the picture files in a special way.  All
  31. files have a common prefix of upto 4 letters (e.g.  "TRIP").  Each
  32. photo will be numbered with a 4 digit number starting at a number you
  33. specify (e.g. 0035).  So that this would mean that your files will
  34. be named :  TRIP0035.GIF,  TRIP0036.GIF,  TRIP0037.GIF .... etc.

  36. The prefix and first number are specified on the order form.

  38. For large orders you may wish to indicate on the photos the sequence
  39. for processing the prints or slides (and hence the file number).
  40. They must already be in this correct sequence.  This will avoid you
  41. much time having to inspect each file to match it with the correct data.
